In my opinion, being a professional is being many
things.
I
believe that part of being a professional requires playing by the rules. A professional should not be engaged in unethical or illegal activities.
Therefore you won't find me using pirated music. All of my music is
owned by myself.
You may say, "What difference does this make?" It assures you
the best possible sound from the source. You won't have to worry about
poor sound quality from substandard recordings.
Additionally
as part as my commitment to professionalism, I pay business taxes.
I
don't cheat the government and likewise won't cheat you. I'll give you
everything I promise.
I
also possess equipment and liability insurance. I carry backup
equipment and have contingency plans in place. We'll enter into a legal
agreement that protects both you and us.
And
finally, remember Adam Ant's song "Goody Two Shoes"? The words
go "Don't drink, don't smoke, what do ya do?" From
the moment I walk in the door I will project an image of
professionalism. I won't drink alcohol or smoke before or during your
event. When children are present, I will make every attempt to keep
objectionable lyrics out of the playlist and keep it at a "G" rated
level. I will be dressed appropriately from the time I walk in the
door. While I don't come formally dressed to set up our equipment,
I
will change into appropriate dress before the show whether that be a tux
and tails or themed apparel such as Hawaiian clothing or a Halloween
costume.
Go ahead! Put me to your test. Take a look at my
Upcoming Events page for events where you can come see if I make
your grade!
